Site
The site for the event will be buildings on the main Seattle campus of the University of Washington. The campus is within the city of Seattle, in King County, Washington. Campus buildings do not have their own street addresses.
The buildings include:
Meany Hall
Meany Hall is the home of the Dance program at the University of Washington, and will be the primary home of the symposium. Dance studios 265, 266, and 267 will host the Thursday evening welcome dance, as well as classes and activities on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Meany Hall is located on the campus just east of the intersection of NE 40 St and 15 Ave NE.
Mary Gates Hall Commons
The Commons at Mary Gates Hall is the site for Saturday afternoon’s “Day of Dance” workshop, and the dances on Friday and Saturday nights. Mary Gates Hall is located on campus a short walk east of Meany Hall.
McMahon Hall
On-campus lodging for the event will be in McMahon Hall. Guests should check-in for their rooms in this building, and their breakfast is served each morning at 8 at McMahon.
Parking
The most convenient parking to buildings used for the event is on campus, provided by UW Parking Services. The Central Plaza Garage is most convenient to Meany Hall and Mary Gates Hall Commons. Street parking is nearby but is generally metered.
Parking rates for each day are as follows:
- Thursday evening (open dance practice): $5.00
- Friday full day including evening: $11.00
- Saturday full day: $5.00
- Saturday after 12 noon (works for “Day of Dance” program): Free
- Sunday: Free
Parking fees are not included in site fees. Less expensive weekday parking for Friday is available in lots E1 ($5.00), and E3/E4 ($2.50) but these lots are about ¾ mile and 1 mile east of the event buildings.
