Reconstruction by Peter and Janelle Durham, informed by that of Vivian Stephens and Monica Cellio. Text from Smith's transcription of Pd. Translation from Smith's consolidated translation, based mostly on Pd but with additions from other sources.

Notes
Reconstruction.  In determining the initial formation of the dance, we have chosen to have a couple be improper. Otherwise, the transition between the saltarelli forward and the square figure is awkward. If the couples remained proper and turned in place to form the square, the figure where the men trade places would not work as described. Another way to make this work would be to have the couples diverge during the saltarelli to end facing each other, but this violates the instruction that one couple follows the other.
Reconstruction.  At F 9-12 the text of Pd suggests a ripresa rather than a reverence. We chose to follow the lead of Stephens and Cellio in having a reverence here, as called for in two of the sources.
Reconstruction.  While the source transcribed above does not include instructions for a repeat, three of the other four that include this dance do.
