Notes

Recordings. "Balletto Alta Caretta", track 5 on the 1987 album Il Ballarino by Jeremy Barlow and The Broadside Band, works well with this reconstruction.

Reconstruction. Anna Mansbridge's version of this dance as taught in 2024 differs from Anne Daye's in section III. Anna uses a Puntato Grave at III A1 and three Passi in III A2; Anne Daye uses a Puntato at III A1 1-4 and three Passi Gravi in III A1 5-8 + A2. The source does not mark either step as Grave.

Reconstruction. Anna's version also differs in section IV. Anna has the Riverenze at IV A2 7-8 and its repeat at IV B 15-16 take just two counts so the first phrase fits tidily into IV A1+A2; Anne Daye has these Riverenze take 6 counts to fill the available music. Anna uses the extra 8 counts from the shorter Riverenze to insert the Riprese and Riverenza at IV B 17-24; these do not seem to appear in the source.

Reconstruction. Anne Daye adds in the closed Passo at VI E 34-36 following the similar phrase at V E 34-36.
